I am grateful for the opportunity to have performed with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps traveling the United States, Canada, and Europe. Scott Chandler and TJ Doucette took a chance on the boy from Garland, Texas. This background allowed me to come fully express my passion and joy of dancing and performing before live audiences. The knowledge and wisdom that I gained would allow me to learn about myself and grow as individual. Thank you!
Participation in the visual and performing arts have been an integral part of my life. Growing up, I was exposed to art classes, piano lessons, dance, and community theater. I may not be a professional dancer, but it was the life skills I cultivated which have served me in my personal and professional life.
Through the journey of the creative process, I learned to work smarter - not harder.
I studied my craft everyday.
Each day, our dance class was different; and it taught me to improvise and to think on my feet.
The mistake isn’t as important as how you recover.
Focus on yourself and improving your skills, abilities, and technique.
There is no competition other than with you.
Don’t worry about what others are doing, and stay in your own lane.
There are no rules.
Focus on what you do best that brings you bliss.
If you want to be a disruptor, an innovator, and a visionary, you must consistently know your truth and expand upon it.
Like interior design, it starts with a vision. Layer upon layer is added and the final nuance and details create visceral adventures. It is about the passion and the satisfaction of the experience.
No, most young people will never play in a symphony, dance around the world, or perform on a Broadway stage. It isn’t about training them all to pursue careers in the arts. It is the lessons they learn about how to exist in this world and to be better people that shapes and forms their lives.
The visual and performing arts are important programs in our schools. It is my mission to work with organizations that expose our youth to type of educational experiences.
